Summary:

The Program Specialist II assumes the primary caretaker role for K - 12 psychiatric patients admitted to our psychiatric day program. The specialist provides children and adolescents assistance with activities of daily living, maintains a safe environment, and aids patients in the management of harmful behaviors. The Program Specialist II also assists in crisis intervention, teaching lesson plans and group processes to help educate and improve behaviors.

Work Hours: Mon- Fri 7:30 am - 4 pm

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required preferably in psychology, child development, social work or related field.
  • Education in child growth and development required.
  • Experience in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred.
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
  • Prior employees grandfathered in with at least 2 years of previous inpatient/partial hospital/residential child or adolescent services for each year of college.

Certification/Licensure:
  • BLS or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
  • CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Childrens Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
