ABOUT THE ROLE

Our team develops new and modifies existing processes, defines process equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of Ring Laser Gyroscope and MEMS based Inertial Sensors and IMUs.

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer Sr. Advanced is an experienced expert that will influence the planning and designing of manufacturing engineering processes, by bringing Manufacturing Engineering & automation skillset to an existing team of product and process engineers. This skillset may include automation hardware experience or IIOT types of software and manufacturing digitization.
You will determine technologies needed by the team to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification, for improving existing and introducing new processes/product technologies. You will maximize efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Assist in the development, integration, and production implementation for both upgrading existing equipment and adding new capability for mirror coating and mirror quality testing. Support daily production activities and drive producibility improvement projects in a challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support existing solutions and design / implement innovative solutions for industrial operations that may include: Industrial PC's (hardware, operating systems, peripherals, PLC's, Motion Control, Machine Vision - continuous inspection / defect inspection, and Instrumentation.
Provide test and manufacturing support for Ring Laser Gyro sub assemblies. Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices to reduce process / Yield variation to increase mirror output to meet growing demand.
Develop improvements in product design and in the manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions.

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
3+ years' experience
Basic experience or understanding of Robotic Programming (FANUC, Roboguide, etc.), PLC Programming (Studio 5000), CNC Programming (CAM, etc.)

Technical proficiency in the use of Automation hardware such as Robotics Programming (FANUC, Roboguide, etc.), PLC Programming (Studio 5000), CNC Programming (CAM, etc.),
And/Or
Experience with manufacturing software support such as C#, SQL, Network Architecture, Python or R, Oracle or SQL Server, Web Development (ASP.NET), SAP, and OPC Standards, Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices.
Quickly and accurately identifying subtle interrelationships and patterns among a variety of problems and issues (process and data correlation of cause/effect across value stream).
Hands on work ethic. Initiative and ownership of responsibilities and actions.
Ability to partner and collaborate well with team members.
Conveying information with clarity and directness, ensuring the message is understood across diverse teams.
Ability to balance priorities in daily tasks and strategic projects.
