General Purpose and Scope of Position:


The Technical Data Steward is responsible for providing data standardization and modeling in support of all data-related technology and application strategies, balancing functionality with integration and security. This person will work with many internal customers and IT personnel to deliver solutions supporting a continually changing business environment and aligning master data. The Technica Data Steward will strategically build data models that describe data and its relationships in a consistent way to support objectives, as well as establish and maintain an adaptable infrastructure to facilitate the access, definition, management, security, and integrity of data across the company.


Key Skills and Abilities Include:


  • 10+ years' experience in large corporate systems environments with a strong background in data modeling designed for multi-use, multi-purpose, security by role and row and designed for adaptability

  • 5+ years' experience with Master Data Management support and strategy

  • Work at an advanced level in all phases of data management

  • Maintains a deep understanding of the business or function for which the data or product is designed so that data definitions as well as supporting systems, or processes are aligned

  • Educates business and IT in Data Governance, Data Profiling, Data Tracing and Data Analysis concepts and techniques

  • Working knowledge of RDBMS, Star schema, snowflake, canonical modeling, etc. and when each model is useful, best practice

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study

  • Highly motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and a team player

  • Excellent communication skills

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:


  • Maintains the vision of all enterprise data models and multiple parallel product development initiatives

  • Partners with different business units to elicit key data standardization initiatives that support business and strategic direction

  • Familiar with modeling tools like Idera, Erwin and best practices for communicating models

  • Establishes and maintains data governance including literacy, lineage, and quality

  • Supports Master Data Management technical workflows, models, development, and maintenance. Tools like Profisee, Reltio, and Semarchy preferred

  • Supports Data Catalog lineage and literacy. Tools like Alation and Collibra preferred

  • Ensures that data definitions & interfaces are properly identified, documented, and maintained.

  • Supports the Enterprise Data Architect in building and maintaining the enterprise architectural platform that enables change-based growth.

  • Communicates and evangelizes technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders, other IT stakeholders, and Senior Management.

  • Working with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flow

Compensation and Benefits:


  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $102,800 - $144,020. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
