TWO POSITIONS AVAILABLE: ONE COVERS THE EASTERN HALF OF THE U.S. AND THE OTHER COVERS THE WESTERN HALF

The Institutional Client Advisor will work with internal and external partners to create and identify new Investment Only ("IO") opportunities on outside recordkeeping platforms across all asset classes. In addition to new client relationships, the individual is responsible for managing relationships with current MissionSquare Defined Contribution Investment Only ("DCIO") clients. This individual also will promote and deliver the broader MissionSquare organization (mission, resources, investment capabilities) to the Defined Contribution community, including Advisors, Consultants & Plan Sponsors within assigned territory, and represent MissionSquare at industry conferences and organization events.

Essential Functions/Activities:
  • The work involves approximately 50-80% travel, with higher percentages during certain periods.
  • Work directly with Plan Sponsors, consultants/advisors, and third-party partners to promote and expand the market share of the suite of MissionSquare Retirement investment offerings.
  • Conduct consultative discussions with plan sponsors on investment alternative considerations, requiring in depth knowledge of investment styles, portfolio structuring, and fund specific details.
  • Interact with Field Sales, Investments, Marketing, Financial Operations, and Compliance, as well as teams within the Institutional Sales to address internal and external investment education, communication and materials needs.
  • Work directly with Field Sales and Consultant Relations to create and identify new Investment Only opportunities while working to retain current investment clients.
  • Participates in the exchange of economic, market, and industry news and analysis among MissionSquare team members in support of all investment programs managed by MissionSquare Retirement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
  • Investment experience with emphasis on portfolio analysis, asset allocation strategies, mutual fund research and analysis, and investment and economic trends.
  • Ability to leverage analytical experience into written and verbal communication for a variety of audiences, including consultants/advisors, investment research analysts, investment committees and boards of directors, that may range from financial professionals to those without a financial background.
If you have the following credentials, we encourage you to apply:
  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience
  • CFA, or progress towards receiving, preferred
  • 5 to 7 years in the sales/DCIO space
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses
  • Experienced understanding of mutual fund evaluation criteria
  • Ability to understand and evaluate Collective Investment Trusts (CITs)
  • Investment related client contact through travel and conference calls, preferably with senior level institutional clients, and with public speaking experience
  • Strong writing and related research skills
  • Solid understanding of the economy and capital markets
  • Excellent listening and client communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with senior level institutional clients

MissionSquare is providing the base salary range for this position as is required under California law. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for sales incentive compensation, with any actual incentive based on performance. Actual base salary and sales incentive eligibility will be defined at time of offer and may consider such factors as education, experience, skill set, geographic location, and certification or licensing. Total Compensation Range: $110,060 - $170,590.
