Summary Description: This position is responsible for executing talent capabilities, services, and initiatives that align with the Company's strategic objectives and are designed to help enhance the Family Member (employee) Experience. Works across departments to implement Human Resources (HR) and talent strategies and drive a culture of care to influence Family Member satisfaction. Manages programs designed to improve and/or meet the personal, professional, and organizational needs of Family Members along the Family Member Lifecycle. Serves as a trusted advisor and resource to Family Members and provides programs, policies, and activities that are established to benefit the employee/employer relationship. Provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees, supervisors, and management regarding Human Resources-related matters.
Responsibilities:
  • Partners proactively with leaders on talent planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Provides HR support for designated functions/departments and develops plans to drive coordinated actions to address change management strategy.
  • Serves as a HR business facilitator at the Home Office and/or alternate support staff work locations to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Maintains knowledge of employment legislation impacting corporate policy, procedure, and practice. Interprets and explains HR laws, market trends, administrative regulations, memoranda of understanding, and other HR policies and procedures to supervisors and employees.
  • Serves as liaison between Family Members and supervisors to ensure fair and consistent treatment of Family Members in all aspects of employment.
  • Advises management on the best way to handle various employee relations issues and provides general expertise in HR functions. Acts as Mediator and emergency responder, which leads the resolution of disputes and develops solutions to problems between Family Members and supervisors/managers using a variety of resolution approaches.
  • Assists management with grievance/disciplinary process by scheduling and conducting coaching sessions, recommending appropriate disciplinary action, drafting coaching documents and reports, and assisting with terminations and off-boarding activities.
  • Assists in setting budget guidelines, forecasting future financial expenditure needs of department, as well as anticipated budget estimates. Reviews and approves team's expenses. Acts as a responsible steward of resources, assets, contracts, and budget(s). Controls operating expenses and assists with the quarterly and annual budgeting process.
  • Serves as liaison to departments at all levels of the organization on development and implementation of governance policies and protocols.
  • Recommends process/customer improvement, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy. Develops new policies as needed. Recommends organizational development strategies to department/division personnel including quality improvement, performance enhancement approaches, and problem solving by analyzing departmental trends and performance outcomes.
  • May assist with managing various HR activities for mergers, acquisitions, and other key organizational initiatives.
  • Partners with Financial Planning and Analysis team and Business Managers on talent planning and organizational changes.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education :
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or any equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required


Experience:
  • Experience with addressing root causes of human resources issues and resolving employee relations issues with a systematic approach
  • Experience with performance management, classification and compensation, dispute resolution, recruitment support, separation, leave administration, and benefits processing
  • Experience in conducting studies/projects on various human resources topics, compiling supporting data to document methodology, and developing proposals based on finding
  • Experience leading and managing teams
  • 5+ years Human Resources or related experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Visio (as applicable)
  • Proficiency in Workday (as applicable)
  • Ability to communicate, influence and negotiate decisions while motivating assigned staff
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of employment laws relating to employee relations and personnel administration
  • Ability to recommend organizational development strategies to department/division personnel including quality improvement, performance enhancement approaches, and problem solving by analyzing departmental trends and performance outcomes
  • Demonstrated strong business literacy about the organization's strategic goals, budget priorities, midrange plans, culture, and critical projects
  • Ability to utilize data and metrics from organization to provide strategic business solutions to leadership partners
