New Jersey Resources (NJR) summer internships provide engaging learning and growth opportunities for enthusiastic college students ready to build real-world experience and learn about the energy industry. New Jersey Resources is seeking a Web Application Development Intern to assist the Information Technology team. What you will do: Bring your enthusiasm and drive and you'll learn from some of the top talent in the energy industry. You'll have hands-on experience with your team and the support of our human resources team through this 10-week program. Growing both professionally and personally throughout the program could lead to future post-grad opportunities. • Assist in development, testing, implementation, and support of application systems • Design, code, test and debug functional prototypes of web applications • Perform basic testing (using test scripts where appropriate) to ensure prototype functions remain reliable and repeatable • Ability to multi-task and practice good time management skills, both individually and as part of a team • Collaborate with team members to effectively learn new technologies • Perform other related duties as assigned What we are looking for: We're looking for self-starters who are motivated to learn, grow and take on new challenges. Requirements: • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in IT, MIS, Computer Science or related discipline; May 2024 graduates and graduate students in Masters program are not eligible • Demonstration of curiosity and desire to learn as well as contribute to the team • Strong communication, organizational, problem solving and analytical skills • Knowledge of IT environment, systems, applications and/or infrastructure • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) • Proficiency with Git • Ability to think and work independently within a professional setting • Strong collaboration and team building skills • Excellent professional demeanor • Available to work full time (40 hours per week) during defined intern program dates (June-August) • Ability to work hybrid schedule in the corporate office in Wall, NJ (days onsite defined by manager) • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position What's in it for you: • Exposure to a growing company focuses on a sustainable, clean energy future • Hybrid work schedule for select roles • Competitive compensation • Learning, development and mentoring opportunities • Regular opportunities to get involved in community service We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
