Required Application Type School Related Personnel Salary/Pay Scale $18 per hour Job Description The position of Substitute Lunch Monitor/Teacher's Aide is a district-wide part-time position in the Suffern Central School District. The salary is $18 per hour. Bilingual Preferred. ROCKLAND COUNTY CIVIL SERVICE JOB SPECIFICATION: MONITOR (GROUP OF CLASSES) DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is routine interpersonal work involving the custodial care of pupils in school buildings, on playgrounds and on class trips. The work may require an ability to speak a language other than English in order to deal with a particular pupil population. The work requires independent judgment and is performed under the supervision of a teacher or administrator. Does related work as required. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Monitor (Substitute) Job Qualifications FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Ability to understand and direct children courteously and firmly but tactfully; ability to speak well and clearly; ability to speak a language other than English if required*. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma. NOTE: Academic or vocational training or clerical experience may be substituted for high school on a year-to-year basis. *To be demonstrated during the probationary period.
