Description The Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation Southern Region Parks Division seeks an experienced Principal Parks/Facilities Maintenance Worker III - CDL to perform skilled park maintenance work involving moderate responsibility, complexity, and variety. The successful candidate will perform a variety of maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, trash removal, athletic field maintenance, trail maintenance, and snow removal by working in a team environment and occasionally leading small groups of career and/or intermittent employees. The ideal candidate should possess skills to operate trucks, tractors with attachments, large riding mowers, loaders, forklifts, and other such equipment. The workdays are scheduled for Tuesday-Saturday, however, work schedules may change to Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday to best fit the work program. The work hours are generally 6:00am-2:45pm but may also vary depending on your assignment. Hiring Range: $40,710 - $56,405 with growth potential to $72,101. Salary commensurate with experience. Minimum Qualifications Supplemental Information Class/Specification: Principal Parks/Facilities Maintenance Worker III-CDL Primarily works outside, but may work inside on occasion or as assigned. May work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Exposed to weather, dirt, waste, odors, caustic chemicals, pesticides, wildlife, and potentially harmful insects (for example, bees, hornets, wasps, etc.).
