Career Coach - Ebeid Promise - Full Time - Days

The Career Coach reports directly to the Senior Manager, Ebeid Neighborhood Promise and will
work closely with the Financial Coaches, Manager, Education Initiatives and the Organizational
Excellence team to support the overall workforce development system level strategy. In addition,
the coach will work with external partners delivering employment readiness services. The Career
Coach has no direct reports.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Career Job Coach uses strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills to
drive client recruitment while simultaneously facilitating workforce development services and
connecting into other ProMedica organizational and community initiatives.
The ideal candidate must possess the ability to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented
environment and should be experienced and comfortable communicating both one-on-one and
with small groups of people on a variety of job-related, financial, educational, and social topics.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
*All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*
1. Provide direct service including conducting one-on-one coaching and training, aimed at helping
primarily low-to-moderate households to increase job readiness, and achieve employment
goals.
2. Responsible for initial intake, assessment and case management for all workforce development
clientele.
3. Assist in creating and implementing policies and procedures related to the delivery of
workforce services including, but not limited to:
• Evaluating/revising client flow processes;
• Client scheduling procedures;
• Coordinating referrals;
• General customer service management
• Planning and implementing targeted outreach
4. Provide direct service including conducting trainings and one-on-one coaching, aimed at
helping others improve education/employment status, obtain related
certifications/licenses/degrees, and achieve employment goals.
5. Identify and refer participants to other community resources and services, as needed, to
achieve clients' financial goals.
6. Provide timely reports and information to management, funders, and community partners
7. Continue professional development to acquire new skills and techniques to promote highquality services and impact.
8. Work with leadership to adapt coaching methods and tools in order to create more effective
client and program service delivery and outcomes.
9. Performs other functional related duties as assigned.
10. Local travel, up to 20%.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in social work, business, finance, or related field or 5-10 years
related work experience in lieu of a degree.
Skills:
- Ability to relate to people of varied economic, racial, ethnic & religious backgrounds.
- Excellent social/interpersonal skills and writing ability commensurate with the
communication and reporting requirement of the position.
- Knowledge and experience in employment, financial and income supports counseling.
- Remain up to date on trends in workforce development and evolving areas within the field.
- Ability to apply critical and strategic thinking.
- Strong communication skills including ability to tell a story and include facts and data.
- Thoroughly review data and perform analysis in determining where opportunities exist and
establish a strategy to pursue.
- Ability to solve problems, make decisions, resolve conflicts.
- Ability to be flexible.

Years of Experience: 2 years relevant experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills: 1 years workforce development experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Must be able to travel to various work locations and within the community.
