SUMMARY

Responsible for the confidential administration of various employee benefit plans such as health, dental, vision, life, the employee assistance program, disability insurances, and leave of absences as well as the administration of other benefit functions by performing the essential functions listed below

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Supports the benefits and operations teams by monitoring and maintaining department communication systems
  • Educates and provides information on benefit eligibility, coverage options and other benefit related matters
  • Maintains benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
  • Works with employees to ensure required documentation for a qualifying life event is received prior to authorizing benefit election changes outside of a regular enrollment period
  • Assists with routine audits of employee benefit group eligibility to ensure ACA compliance and works with People Development to correct employee time types as needed
  • Assists with company Wellness Programs and Events
  • Writes, types, or enters information into computer to prepare correspondence, statements, or other documents, copying information from one record to another
  • Enters updates and verifies data into various systems for use by the Benefits Department
  • Reconciles invoices in conjunction with accounting deadlines
  • Prepares benefit mail-outs as directed
  • Attends and participates in team meetings, training sessions, and company-sponsored programs as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two years administrative related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS
  • Knowledge of applicable labor laws regarding EEO/AAP, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, preferred

WORK AVAILABILITY
  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by management.
  • Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week or such other hours per day or hours per week as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
  • Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • This position requires occasional travel with overnight stays
  • Must meet driver's license requirements as required by the Company
  • Must be able to legally obtain a rental vehicle in all states in which the company does business
  • Must have current auto liability insurance
