General Purpose and Scope of Position:


Wilbur-Ellis Branded Technologies and Biological Solutions (BTBS) represent the proprietary products that we manufacture, or purchase and resell to growers under the Wilbur-Ellis label. This diverse group of products includes Nutrition, Adjuvants, Specialty Actives, Organic, and Pro Markets products.


The BTBS Associate Territory Manager will provide support to their assigned Territory and/or Field Manager with the intent to develop into a Territory Manager, Channel Partner, or Product Manager over a 2-4 year period. This individual will receive mentoring, guidance, and professional development from their Territory or Field Manager to oversee a small territory with 3-4 locations and 10-15 salespeople or PCAs, all while building practical real-world experience. The expectation would be that the candidate be prepared to relocate to other geographies which may include states within the Wilbur-Ellis footprint after this 2-4 year assignment ends.


Key Skills and Abilities Include:


  • BS in Agronomy or related agricultural field of study with basic agronomic understanding is required

  • 1-2 years experience in the industry with emphasis on scouting crops, crop nutrition, and understanding of the fertilizer business is preferred.

  • Understanding of research trials and the value of data

Key Personal Attributes Include:


  • Skill in providing sales coaching and motivation

  • A high degree of leadership ability including building relationships

  • Excellent written verbal and presentation communication skills.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to set priorities

  • Skill in creative and critical thinking, especially around idea initiation for new branded products (in collaboration with Product Development).

  • Demonstrated work ethic with the ability to work and make decisions independently without day-to-day guidance

Responsibilities and Key Deliverables:


  • Manage a small Territory roughly a 1/3 the size of a normal Territory

    • 3-4 Locations

    • 10-15 Sales People or PCA's



  • Promote existing research data generated within the Branded Products group to support what we are doing within the Branded Team.

    • Simply stated, we have extensive research data supporting why we are bringing a new Branded Product to the market

    • Credibly deliver data to generate interest and determine if there is a fit.

    • Advocate for the validation work at a local level to confirm that the product has a fit and will accomplish the stated goal below

    • Promote products that provide value for our crop selection. It should either save the grower money, increase yield, or increase quality

    • Perform and assist with internal Sales Team, Dealer, and Grower product meetings

    • Provide pricing guidance to the field sales staff on Branded Products through ASAP 2.0 and specifically for Branded Blends; the use of AgVance partnering with operations

    • Assist in developing annual area, branch, and personal sales goals

    • Provide Branded Product communication to all levels of Wilbur-Ellis within the area, including product introductions, product updates/positioning, and other product support materials that are developed

    • Enhance ability to meet and exceed sales goals



Compensation and Benefits:



  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $89,400 to $125,280. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
