Clarification from the agency Open to all U.S. Citizens. This announcement will be utilized to fill positions through the Direct Hire Authority. Duties This position starts at a salary of $139,395.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $181,216.00 (GS-14, Step 10). This position is located in Laboratories and Scientific Services (LSS), Interdiction Technology Branch (ITB), within the Operations Support Office (OS) of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this position you are responsible for management of scientific and technical work on CBP projects involving rapid technology assessments and overall management of assigned new and complex DHS-wide technology projects. Qualifications Basic Requirement: You qualify for this position if you meet the basic requirement listed above and possess the experience or substitution of education, if applicable, as described below: A. Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. OR B. Combination of education and experience--education equivalent to one of the majors shown in "A" above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. AND Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
