Resp & Qualifications

PURPOSE:
Oversees various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis. Provides financial support to the business, including but not limited to cost accounting, revenue recognition, subcontractor financial management, At Risk coordination, forecasting and EAC development, variance analysis, invoice preparation/review and cash flow management (to include timely unbilled analysis/reconciliations). Interfaces regularly with project managers, account managers and business area directors. Supports large and/or complex projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Plans and produces various financial reports and critiques to tell the financial story to leaders at various levels. Analyzes trends, validates data, and conducts in-depth reviews of financial statements. Interfaces with other areas to develop needed reporting, methods, procedures, and prioritizes requests. Recommends, implements and documents changes to accounting workflow and controls when appropriate.
  • Develops, coordinates, analyzes and verifies data and financial reports to produce the financial Plan for all areas of the Company. Thinks outside of the box, identify process improvements and efficiencies. Creates, edits, and manages Excel, PowerPoint, and system generated queries/documents for Area reporting and forecasting. Develops analytical solutions to efficiently analyze multiple data sets, identify key variances/performance indicators, and present results.
  • Responds to manager, director, and executive inquiries, handles special requests, researches complex finance/accounting issues. Communicate with corporate management on accounting/financial processes and regulatory requirements. Prepare financial data for presentation to upper management.
  • Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of accounting software applications (i.e., financial /time reporting, cost accounting, allocations, etc.) Coordinates, reviews and analyzes major financial report submissions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance to end users. Gathers, compiles and interprets information collected through financial analyses in order to identify trends and provide insight for decision making.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, related field or equivalent technical training OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Licenses/Certifications Upon Hire Preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Experience: 8 years demonstrated progressively responsible work experience in finance accounting or quantitative analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong Excel, Analytical, and system skills. Strong working knowledge of accounting and financial systems, GAAP, Microsoft Office 365. CPA licensure and/or MBA. In-depth understanding of cost accounting allocations and methodologies; and experience with Oracle Financial applications.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Proficient with financial analysis software (i.e., Delphi Technology, Oracle E-Business Suite Financials, Longview).
  • Proficient with database entry and query software.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads.
  • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
Salary Range: $75,960 - $150,865
