Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Specialist, Clinical Charge Capture.

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for providing support for all hospital and physician charge capture initiatives to improve the charge capture process and to enhance revenue within the clinical department. Confirms accuracy and completion of charge capture process and other pertinent documentation specific to designated clinical department. Responsible for supporting system implementations within department as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
    • Addresses billing inquiries including but not limited to report review/revisions as needed to address denials; validation of supplies.
    • Reviews system entries are accurately documented as it relates to procedures, times and staff. Performs data entry as needed.
    • Maintains revenue integrity by monitoring all inpatient and outpatient charge capture reports and work lists for services and supplies rendered.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Confirms accuracy and completion of charge capture process and other pertinent documentation specific to designated clinical department.
    • Reviews Charge Error Work List to facilitate accurate charge entry in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or clinically related field. Clinical certification in related area of discipline. 1 - 2 years related experience in area of discipline. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, detail oriented, analytical, problem solving skills. Basic knowledge of Microsoft (Word, Excel and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Coding specialist. Current Procedures Codes (CPT) and International Class of Diseases Codes /ICD-10) Cath and EP coding. 3 - 5 years in a Clinically related environment. Experience with medical coding (CPT/ICD-10).

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,382.24 - $91,639.39 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
