Job Overview

The Senior, Model Builder collaborates with the Solution Architect and advises Junior Model Builders to architect, build, model, and support critical business solutions and processes on the Anaplan platform. They also assist in maintaining existing models, provide architectural guidance, and drive Anaplan standard methodologies for enterprise-wide initiatives.

What You Will Do
  • Support the COE Leader in identifying opportunities for model enhancements through regular COE-business meetings.
  • Translate existing solutions, spreadsheets, and business problems into sophisticated Anaplan multi-dimensional models.
  • Lead team efforts in designing, building, and implementing new Anaplan models.
  • Facilitate the development of user stories during the requirements phase.
  • Collaborate with users to understand their existing planning and forecasting processes, considering workflow improvements and streamlining opportunities.
  • Assist the Solution Architect with other model-building related tasks.
  • Manage new model builds and existing model enhancements with business partners, coordinating model-building tasks executed by junior model builders.
  • Review and QA the working products of junior model builders, providing feedback.
  • Monitor and validate data flows to and from the Anaplan platform.
  • Lead junior model builders in facilitating UAT testing and deployment with the project team.
  • Develop a technical support structure for ongoing Anaplan operations.
  • Create Anaplan training materials in collaboration with the Solution Architect.
  • Adhere to Anaplan best practices for model design and implementation (Anaplan Way/Agile).
  • Develop model documentation.

Skills You Will Need

Anaplan Expertise: Proficiency in architecting, building, and supporting critical business solutions and processes on the Anaplan platform, including translating existing solutions into multi-dimensional models.

Leadership: Ability to lead teams in designing, building, and implementing new Anaplan models, as well as managing model builds and enhancements while providing guidance to junior model builders.

Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the capability to convey ideas in both technical and user-friendly language, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

Motivation and Attention to Detail: Highly motivated and driven, with keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a self-managed environment.

Creative and Strategic Thinking: Capacity to think creatively, strategically, and technically to address complex business challenges and optimize Anaplan solutions.

Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of MS Office computer programs, understanding of data integration challenges and solutions (such as ETL), and experience with standard connectors like HyperConnect and automation using Anaplan connect.

ETL Experience: Familiarity with third-party ETL tools preferred (e.g., ODI, Informatica, Snaplogic, Mulesoft, Boomi) for data integration tasks.

Certifications: Minimum Anaplan L2 Model Builder Certification is required to demonstrate expertise in Anaplan modeling and implementation.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience supporting FP&A or Sales Finance business functions with a working knowledge of end-to-end business processes.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with Anaplan, covering at least 4 projects.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel.
  • Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms.
  • Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
