Description

Duties

The incumbent serves as a Program Analyst responsible for the management of business functions within the program’s technical division.  The incumbent supports the planning and development of acquisition efforts and performs analytical assignments that may require the application of qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze and evaluate internal organizational administrative operations to determine their efficiency and effectiveness.

Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:
  • Coordinating Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) production and delivery schedules between the PSC Program, suppliers, storage facilities, and the shipyard to meet production need dates.
  • Serving as Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for various program support efforts.
  • Leading, conducting or participating in complex management studies and reviews particularly those with wide or significant effect upon acquisition planning and implementation including budgeting, scheduling and risk analysis.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and updating official acquisition program documents such as program management plans, acquisition program baselines, program status briefs, analyses of alternatives, etc.
  • Coordinating program activities and process improvements with stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of program and timely completion of milestones or decision events.

Qualifications

To be considered at the GS-12 level: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. For this position, specialized experience includes participating in management studies and reviews; preparing, reviewing, and updating official acquisition program documentation; and coordinating program activities with stakeholders.  Ideal candidate has experience serving in an acquisition program office supporting a technical or contract management team.
  •  Selectee will be required to obtain and maintain Federal Acquisition Certification-Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Level II certification within 12 months of hire.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
