General Purpose and Scope of Position:


Wilbur-Ellis is seeking an experienced Fabricator / Welder to fabricate components, repair, and maintain agricultural equipment. The ideal candidate will succeed in this position by reading prints and studying the metal to calculate the accurate requirements to determine the appropriate welding techniques.


Key Skills and Abilities Include:


  • Knowledge of assembly; parts; welding; welding symbols; quality control; and safety (REQUIRED)

  • Ability to read and understand welding drawings

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills (REQUIRED)

  • Familiarity and comfort with various types of machinery

  • Knowledge of spray and fertilizer equipment (STRONGLY PREFERRED)

  • Strong general mechanical skills

Key Personal Attributes Include:


  • Physically able to read, evaluate, and respond to product specifications and drawings

  • Physically able to stand, walk, squat, lay, pull, push, and lift consistently throughout an eight-hour work day

  • Good hand-to-eye coordination

  • Manual dexterity

  • Accurately perform normal math calculations with ease

  • Positive, friendly attitude to promote a collaborative team environment

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:


  • Comply with all safety rules and procedures

  • Weld metal parts together to fabricate and/or repair machinery according to layouts, blueprints, and/or work orders

  • Operate tools including but not limited to hand grinder, burning equipment, cutting torch, and other material handling equipment

  • Maintain and complete all required records in a timely and accurate manner

  • Check and inspect welding according to specifications

Compensation and Benefits:


  • In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $26.68 - $35.60 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
