The Construction Site Supervisor II plans, directs and coordinates activities pertaining to the construction, renovation and maintenance of assigned properties in accordance with company policies and government regulations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Staffing/Performance Management Supports in concert with the Director of Construction hiring, training, and coordination of work of the assistant site supervisors, volunteers and/or subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures. Assist the Director of Construction with the overall performance management process of direct reports; provides constructive criticism and feedback both daily and during the formal evaluation process. Work with direct reports to assure that an equal opportunity and harassment free environment is maintained. Serve as a backup site supervisor to HabiCorps trainees on-the-job Site Supervision Plan, schedule or coordinate project activities to meet deadlines. Interprets and communicates specifications and company policies to direct reports, volunteers and/or subcontractors seeing that all applicable safety regulations and building codes are being met and maintained at or above industry standards. Supervise the Assistant Construction Site Supervisory personnel to ensure that volunteers and homeowners are actively engaged in the construction process; maintaining a teaching environment while adequately adhering to safety guidelines. Confer with the Director of Construction to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints or construction problems. Inspection/Maintenance Assists the Director of Construction with conducting site inspections, completing reports, scheduling inspections and establishing project budgets. Regularly performs inspections for properties and units under construction to ensure the work conforms to specifications, budget to schedule and initiates any repair or replacement needs and/or adjustment of working procedure while regularly communicating findings to the Director of Construction. Work with direct reports to assure that all necessary tools, equipment, materials are properly maintained, stored, checked for quality and inventoried regularly while returning or discarding any item that does not meet Habitat's quality standards. Safety Maintain safety compliance knowledge through required trainings and disseminate to all those who come to a Habitat jobsite Maintain a hazard free, clean workspace Understand and operate by safe work practices at all our locations and events to ensure we meet, if not exceed, OSHA and Habitat safety policies and procedures Ensure that all team members and volunteers are aware of and operate by Habitat's safety policies and procedures Exercise outlined protocols by immediately notifying and collaborating with management on any safety related incident and/or respond to a report involving Habitat or any other related team members (workers, volunteers, and subcontractors) If within area of purview initiate and / or provide assistance for the proper investigation regarding safety incidents by following Habitat Safety policies and procedures Records Assist construction manager in maintaining records of job changes Maintain safety log Perform other Duties as Assigned Qualifications Min-5 years supervisory experience in residential construction. Min-High School Diploma and /or an acceptable mix of education and experience Ability and patience to train, teach and coach team members and unskilled volunteers in all aspects of residential construction. The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud. This role uses various construction tools and is required to adhere to all HFHC safety standards. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and arms and is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move materials up to 75lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision. The employee required to wear appropriate work attire including safety equipment (hard hat, gloves, steel toed shoes) when working on job sites.
