Description

The Development Director is responsible for sustaining and increasing the fundraising capacity of Warren County Habitat for Humanity. This rewarding role will be responsible for building relationships in the community including individuals, businesses, churches, organizations, and foundations. The Development Director will implement fundraising strategies to accomplish an affiliate approved Fund Development Plan.
In addition, this role will coordinate with township officials, housing agencies, churches, businesses, individuals, and other community partner organizations where applicable to identify potential projects for collaboration and/or fundraising.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Build relationships with donors and prospects, make personal visits when appropriate, and perform follow-up activities focusing on growing the donor base.
Participate in public speaking and outreach opportunities to share information about the affiliate's goals and impact in the community.
Serve as Chairperson of the Development Committee; guide and create a team approach for implementing fundraising techniques aimed at building and sustaining donors and prospects.
Create and update the affiliate Fund Development Plan with direction and consultation from the Executive Director and CFO.
Provide support to the Board of Directors and engage them as stated within the Fund Development Plan and schedule calls/face-to-face meetings.
Coordinate signature special events throughout the year including an annual gala (Beams & Dreams), donor-related activities, and recognition efforts.
Build and maintain house and other sponsorship programs. Maintain proper advertising for sponsorships to ensure correct acknowledgements.
Coordinate grant writing activities with Grant Writer; help identify, write and monitor grant requests for the affiliate where appropriate. Ensure compliance requirements are met.
Assist with follow-up calling, mailings, and other activities related to building strong donor relationships and enhancing donor confidence in the organization.
Coordinate and oversee direct donor mailings, appeal letters, and other donor enhancement emails as needed.
Oversee all administrative tasks associated with fundraising, including acquisition, solicitation, stewardship and monitoring of all donor data and relationships.
Prepare regular reports that evaluate fundraising efforts; develop monthly progress reports on implementation status of the work plan and quarterly reports on the three year development plan.

General Operations
Complete weekly DD reports to brief Executive Director on number of donor contacts and community partners reached with additional updates as needed.
Provide administrative support by answering questions, maintaining correspondence with other committees or agencies; interfacing with community groups and actively promote the Center throughout the community.
Provide program statistics and reports in a timely manner. Provide quarterly forecast information and annual budget input as needed.
Attend board and committee meetings as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Large-scale project management experience strongly preferred.
5 years of experience in program development for youth and adults.
3 years of supervisory experience required.
Demonstrated experience and strength in developing productive partnerships with community leaders and representatives.
High standards for program planning and implementation.
Excellent outreach, engagement, and interpersonal skills.
Savvy with CRM and Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with facility management preferred.
Familiarity with HFHI and WCHFH mission, goals and expectations.
Personal commitment to, and passion for youth and community services.
Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group.
Strength in managing, developing, coaching, and retaining individuals and teams, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility and performance.
The desire to actively participate in conferences, workshops, and other networking opportunities to strengthen knowledge and promote WCHFH visibility.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details.
Evening and some weekend hours are required.
