Loudon, TN

Compensation Range: $108,829.60 to $163,244.40

Role Purpose

This position will take a lead role in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of plant process control and power distribution systems. Position reports to Technical Manager.

Key Relationships

This position works closely with Operations, Maintenance, and P&E.

Main Accountabilities
  • Serve as plant electrical safety advisor and expert
  • Provide/manage support for plant network infrastructure
  • Develop the technical skills of others outside the electrical discipline
  • Manage electrical and instrumentation technical specifications, standards, and guidelines
  • Cooperatively work with engineering teams to plan, develop, support, and implement capital and sustaining projects to improve safety, reduce costs, improve quality, reduce environmental impacts and increase capacity
  • Provide low and medium voltage preventive maintenance oversight and enhancement
  • Manage Capital Projects
  • Assist maintenance team on corrective actions from predictive maintenance testing of electrical systems
  • Assist maintenance team in planned plant outages required for major electrical and control system upgrades
  • Provide emergency support for the plant's 24/7/365 operations if needed.

Skills and Experience Required
  • BS degree Electrical Engineering and 5+ years' experience
  • Experience with 120V/480V/4160V/15kV power distribution design, installation, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of power distribution system protection including but not limited to short circuit and arc flash analysis, SKM modelling, and relay applications/programming
  • Ability to understand and implement multiple layers of reliability and predictive maintenance testing including but not limited to transformer oil testing, infrared scans, partial discharge testing, and ultrasound monitoring
  • Familiarity with co-generation, generator performance, and controls
  • Experience with motor control center system design and installation
  • Experience with specifying instrumentation and electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of process control system designs and installations including PLC and DCS applications
  • Ability to understand IT and control system networking fundamentals and interface between corporate IT group and local resources for managing IT standards and infrastructure
  • Experience with supporting and/or managing large capital projects that require electrical and instrumentation construction
  • Working understanding of NFPA and NEC regulations
  • Effective consultant for electrical as well as non-electrical technical staff
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and able to take ownership of electrical distribution and control systems without supervision
  • Positive, interactive engagement at all organizational levels
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Possess integrity, respect, safety, and initiative as core values

Loudon is a small town of 6000 people around 30 miles southwest of Knoxville in East Tennessee. Our plant is an established and well-respected part of the local community - you will find a real family feel across the site. We put a total focus on safety, and we do not work with hazardous materials or require medical surveillance programs. The facilities include free parking and an onsite gym and canteen.
