Senior Scientist, Analytics, Biologics Engineering

We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Senior Scientist to enhance our Biological Characterization Team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in a dynamic group responsible for performing SPR and BLI measurements of a wide variety of antibodies, multi-specifics, and complex modalities. The successful candidate will be a key member of our growing team, providing high quality, well-characterized proteins to support biologics discovery across multiple therapeutic indications. This individual will be a well-organized and a highly productive scientist that can design and execute experiments efficiently, analyse, interpret, and present data to multidisciplinary project teams. Collaborate and work with a diverse group of scientists across all therapeutic areas to ensure timely progress in research projects.

Responsibilities
  • Perform critical precise affinity measurements using various pieces of equipment such as Octet, BiaCore 8K, and Carterra LSA.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot relevant laboratory instrumentations.
  • Maintain complete and updated records in electronic lab notebook.

Basic Qualifications:
  • PhD with 2 plus years of experience
  • Or MS Degree with 5 plus years of experience, or BS Degree with 8 plus years of experience in Biologics production.
  • Extensive affinity measurement skills and techniques a must.
  • Analytical and QC skills including analytical SEC experience nice to have.
  • Experience interacting with CMC groups and understanding development upstream and downstream processes, including ultrafiltration, viral clearance, etc. is highly desired.
    • Proven ability to work independently, effectively plan and organize work activities, and prioritize task completion to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced industrial environment.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to collaborate and communicate across disciplines.
Desired Skills
  • Perform biologics quality assessment utilizing a variety of techniques, such as CE-SDS, SEC-HPLC, and endotoxin assay.
  • Experience in various imaging/multicolor flow cytometry-based instruments and data analysis programs.
  • Experience in tissue culture techniques and functional cell-based assay development.

Biologics Engineering is large global organization with team in Gaithersburg MD, and Cambridge, UK responsible for the discovery and optimization of next generation biologics to create biological drug candidates for all key therapeutic areas such as oncology, respiratory and inflammation, cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases. Our Waltham team is a new team we are building from the ground up to support both our global responsibilities as well as building an innovation center where we can push the boundaries of sciences and creativity. We're constantly pushing the boundaries of science to deliver life-changing medicines to patients, with a passion for the development of in-house biologics discovery platforms and novel drug modalities to address unmet medical needs.
