    Job Description

    PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
    The Director, Enterprise Applications is as an integral part of the Enterprise Applications leadership team and serve in a leadership, advisory, and management capacity for the innovative and effective use of licensed and internally developed software applications. Oversee all aspects of Enterprise Application Services for the assigned vertical product line(s), including administration, planning, development, product evaluation and recommendation, implementation, maintenance and lifecycle management. Serves as the liaison with business units for systems support, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management. Oversee all activities that optimize the value, cost and risk of applications. Provide leadership, guidance, and consultation in streamlining business processes, including digitalization, implementing new enterprise applications (on-prem and cloud), maintaining legacy systems, managing demand and resource allocation, securing systems, and managing timely upgrades and project delivery. Maintains a balanced focus between operational excellence and transformational change.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Collaborates with business/process owners and end users of the ERP system(s) to help determine needs and system/process maturation
  • Provides leadership and oversight of the ERP system(s) in support of the daily operations for the assigned vertical product line(s)
  • Leads business process design sessions and ensures new functionality meets requirements
  • Manages staff consisting of System and Business Analysts, User Liaisons, and Developers. Responsible for staff development, establishing performance expectations and metrics, and implementing a continuing plan to improve the overall performance of the department
  • Provides project management and oversight for departmental and system-wide projects requiring analysis, feasibility studies, code development, implementation, maintenance, process/procedure development and planning
  • Responsible for budgetary oversight for departmental budgets
  • Leads the analysis and design of multi-tier applications, and the integration of third-party solutions as well as legacy systems
  • Responsible for the implementation of security, performance monitoring, change management, and update/upgrades of the ERP system(s)
  • Meets with vendor representatives to discuss issues, service agreements and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Ensures institutional and/or departmental standards are met and provides justification for any deviations
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned


  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft ERP Systems and/or cloud based ERP solutions
  • Knowledge of CS, HCM, FSCM, IH and other Oracle products
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ITIL/ITSMF practices
  • Experience with systems and project planning and implementation
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Proven administrative experience to multitask and manage a number of competing priorities within project timelines and deliverables

  • PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
    The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

    WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions, including:
  • College/District Staff - The Director will work with a variety of district wide staff including other Executives and Directors, special committees and task forces, chief academic affairs officers and chief student services officer at each of the colleges, and other college and district staff to develop and or sustain dynamic and evolving technology needs within our district
  • External - The individual will need to work with vendors, colleagues in other colleges and universities, school district technology administrators, and other administrators as appropriate
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards; travel to the Lone Star locations and to external meeting locations will be required

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and at least 5 years of related work experience in leading a complex IT department, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with PeopleSoft (Oracle) ERP Systems or other industry recognized equivalent systems
  • ITIL Foundation Certification or industry recognized equivalent experience


  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in related area
  • Higher Education industry experience
  • Experience with implementing Cloud ERP solutions
  • Experience supporting Cloud ERP solutions
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification


  • Salary

    Hiring salary range is $114,241 - $131,377

    Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
