Sr. Manager, Policy and Advocacy

Location: Washington, DC

Introduction to role:

Join our federal government affairs and US policy team in the Washington DC office as a Sr. Manager, Policy and Advocacy. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing key strategic priorities such as the Orphan Cures Act and Sustainability campaigns. You will work both internally and externally providing legislative research, PAC support and program management related to the key business priorities.

Accountabilities:

You will conduct research and data analysis in alignment with US Federal Government Affairs and public policy leadership. You will manage key strategic priorities to advance our company strategy. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, attending key meetings and representing the company as required. You will coordinate with trade groups, patient groups, medical groups and industry associations to ensure the companies policy priorities are represented by key external stakeholders. You will collaborate with public policy and advocacy campaign development to craft policy solutions that serve business needs while serving our community and meeting political realities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and data analysis and insights. in alignment with US Federal Government Affairs and public policy leadership
  • Manage key strategic priorities to advance our company strategy
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, attending key meetings and representing the company as required
  • Coordinate with trade groups, patient groups, medical groups and industry associations to ensure the companies policy priorities are represented by key external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with public policy and advocacy campaign development to craft policy solutions that serve business needs while serving our community and meeting political realities
  • Collaborate across the US Corporate and Government Affairs teams regularly to ensure business awareness and alignment.

Essential Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3-5+ years of relevant work experience in public policy, public affairs, government affairs, public health, vaccines policy, issues management or related background.
  • Experience juggling multiple deadlines
  • Expertise in distilling sophisticated policy concepts into plain language
  • Skilled at managing cross-functional partner relations in a fast-paced environment

Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization
  • Experience working on Capitol Hill, at a Federal agency or at The White House
  • Understanding of and experience working with or adjacent to the pharma sector
  • Experience working and managing PAC and related government programs.
