Job Details

Building permits are an essential requirement for each project. The Permitting Assistant is part of a team responsible for recording NOCs, completing permit paperwork, applying for permits, and scheduling inspections within set time frames. Primary duties also include strong communication within the permit department as well as with the production department. What We Offer • A great, business casual work environment • Paid Vacation • Paid Holidays • Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance • Hourly pay $16+ per hour, depending on experience • Vehicle allowance and fuel card to compensate for the use of personal vehicle for work purposes • Work Schedule: Full-Time Monday through Friday Duties • Input new incoming permits into the tracking system • Ensure NOCs and paperwork are completely and correctly filled out and signed by the contractor/owner • Apply for permits with each city/municipality we serve according to their requirements • Make permit packets with required paperwork for production • Schedule/coordinate inspection requests and communicate inspection results • Ensure that all projects have permits ready for their installation date • Drive to permitting offices of different municipalities to deliver/pick up required paperwork • Work with permitting department to understand and improve upon the current process for acquiring permits. • Ability to learn and become proficient with building permit offices and the nuances of each location Requirements • High School diploma or equivalent • Computer literate; experience with Microsoft Office, internet software • 2 years of previous permit experience is preferred • Type at least 45 WPM • Clean driving record for past 3 years • Must have reliable vehicle for this position • Current Notary Public or willing to obtain
