Accountabilities:

As the Global Product Leader for immunology cell therapy, for immunology cell therapy holds a senior leadership position within a new and dynamic organization at AstraZeneca. This is an exceptionally exciting and prestigious role, contributing significantly to AstraZeneca's global objectives and the value targets of our portfolio. Reporting directly to the Head of Immunology Cell Therapy in Boston, you will be a member of the leadership team, and spearhead the program and related studies in immune-mediated diseases. Your leadership within the Global Product Team will be crucial for delivering a strategy aligned with the global strategy throughout the product lifecycle. This role offers the outstanding opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams at the enterprise level, including Oncology, Alexion, and several development partners, enhancing the impact and reach of the position.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Masters, Ph.D, or MD, MD/PhD in a related scientific field with 10 plus years of Pharma proven experience, preferably in immunology and cell therapies.
  • Expertise & experience in all stages of the drug development process coupled with the regulatory and commercial insights.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language and in alignment with AZ business.
  • Proven track record in delivering high risk program/projects and decision making.
  • Proven skills and experience of managing and controlling large budgets.
  • Adaptive problem solving and learning and ability to navigate complex organizations and systems
  • Ability to influence both high level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to frame clear & succinct messages and simplify complexity of decision making
  • Ability to convince and lead negotiations across a complex group.
  • Fully conversant with science as it relates to the product.
  • Strong leader seen as credible with Key Opinion Leaders, Payers and Scientific communities.
  • Specific and relevant Therapy Area expertise.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
  • Strong vision and excellent problem-solving skills, passionate, and have the drive to succeed.
  • Entrepreneurial in the style of working and have the energy level to build and lead a group of motivated individuals.
  • Proven ability to learn new information rapidly and effectively.


Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • A sound appreciation of the political, economic, social and technological challenges facing the Life Sciences industry today.
  • Experience in more than one SET Area.
  • Experience of clinical/commercial interface
  • Cross functional team leadership experience.

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $216,800 to $325,200. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
