The AstraZeneca Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets and capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is complex, the largest AZ production site in the US with over 700+ employees. Join our Operations team as a Senior Maintenance Mechanic, where you will be responsible for multi-craft maintenance activities in assigned functional areas. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our production and facility equipment operates efficiently and in compliance with FDA requirements. SHIFT 1st/2nd Rotating

Accountabilities:
As a Senior Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform preventive and predictive maintenance on equipment, use analytical troubleshooting skills to recognize and resolve equipment problems, and work with various teams to improve equipment and production efficiencies. You will also provide training to other mechanics and operators, document your work in compliance with SOPs, SHE standards, and GMPs, and respond to multiple equipment/production problems as needed. Your ability to communicate effectively and work in compliance with GMPs, site policies, work instructions, and SOPs will be key to your success in this role.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years experience in a pharmaceutical production environment or 8+ years as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial production environment
- Completion of a state-accredited Journeyman or technical school program, or equivalent formal education and field experience, demonstrating proficiency in at least 2 of the following areas: Mechanical maintenance of production equipment, Utility systems maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Instrumentation and Controls, Mechanical Fabrication/Machine Shop

Desirable Skills/Experience:

-Experience with operation and maintenance of Air Handling Units

-Experience with operation and maintenance of Reverse Osmosis Skids

-Experience with Steam, Compressed Air, and Purified Water

-Computer literacy, preferably knowledge or understanding of Building Automation Systems and business applications such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and SAP.
