Description

The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a Specialist, Human Resources Operations for our Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).

Starting base salary = $66,000 - $82,500 (commensurate with related experience).

Position Purpose:

Responsible for administration of human resources processes and procedures that support the complete employee lifecycle, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compensation, performance management, learning management, and offboarding. This position is also responsible for administration of the technologies that support the various aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of employment information maintained within the systems.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for accurate and timely entries and administration of employee lifecycle events including: recruiting, onboarding, benefits, compensation, performance, learning management, mentorship, and offboarding. Reviews and recommends process changes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and employee satisfaction, utilizing technology to improve and enhance automation of routine tasks.
  • Maintains accurate and complete employee records and files in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Maintains data quality and performs data audits to ensure data integrity, including data required for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Collaborates with system users to provide technical support, solicits ideas for system improvements and ensures adoption and ease of use. Performs research, analysis, troubleshooting and resolves issues related to HR technology. Maintains current knowledge base of all system functionality.
  • Develops and analyzes employee-data reports including dashboards and assists with human resource data requests for all levels of management.
  • Develops, reviews and updates system documentation including user procedures, guidelines and other documentation. Develops and maintains training resources, communications and provides training and assistance to users in support of the systems.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in human resources functions, policies, procedures and technology. Recommends process changes to reflect best practices and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
