Brief Description Performs a combination of duties which may include janitorial, housekeeping, general labor, facility, laundry and food services. Works within a well-defined framework of policies and procedures, under immediate supervision. Detailed Description Performs janitorial duties such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, stripping and waxing floors and common areas using various equipment to complete assigned tasks.Performs general manual labor duties such as moving furniture, file cabinets, equipment and supplies.Assists with laundry duties, including washing, folding, sorting, and storing.Receives and maintains inventory of food items, clothing, bedding and other supplies.Monitors and inspects facility and equipment and identifies remedies and/or reports to management any related health, safety and security concerns.Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education, Experience and Training:Completion of eighth (8th) grade from an accredited school or additional equivalent work experience. Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Must be able to operate vehicles, buffers, vacuums, lifts or other equipment to complete assigned tasks. Must pass criminal background check. (Juvenile: Mandatory drug testing prior to employment, and will be subject to random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol testing during employment).Physical/Environmental Requirements:• Requires prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, pushing and ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs., unassisted. • An employee may be transferred to another department, shift, location, or facility based on the needs of the Department. • Working in a 24-hour facility may make the employee subject to working mandatory overtime or remaining on duty and working all, or a part of, an additional shift ("double shift"). • The incumbent is / may be considered to be 'essential personnel' subject to being held over or called back to a work location or alternate site at all times. When required, you will be notified by your supervisor.• Must be at least 21 years of age (for applicable positions) and must pass all portions (physical/written) of the Juvenile Academy to continue employment or all standards related to PREA and Ethics for specific positions.
