Brief Description Provides supervision to nursing and support staff to ensure the administration of a quality health care program; plans and implements policies and procedures; and coordinates quality assurance programs.Management Scope: Supervises Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and clerical staff. Detailed Description Supervises a fully functioning program of health services, health counseling and health education for the health center.Provides daily supervision and direction of RNs, LVNs, and clerical staff in the performance of duties, including training, evaluation, orientation and scheduling.Develops and implements staffing protocol to be used in the daily operation of the center. Provides individualized care to Dallas County employees.Assesses conditions of patients, and interprets and evaluates medical histories and physical data for referral to the physician.Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education, Experience and Training:Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing. Three (3) years of professional work related experience.Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas, including 20 hours of continuing education courses over a two (2) year period to maintain R.N. status. Knowledge of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Physical/Environmental Requirements:Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods. Exposure to blood, various illnesses and diseases.
