Description

This position is required to grow top line sales at assigned Lowes store through implementing sales/marketing programs, training activities, service and merchandising responsibilities. The PT SSR will support one Lowes store location in a given market.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Sales
    • Establish strong selling relationships with store associates and store management
    • Continually promote and represent the brand and product strengths to Lowes associates, customers/contractors discerning competitive advantage and competitor's weaknesses.
    • Conduct customer events and demonstrations to promote products and to increase sales
  • Training
    • Conduct product knowledge (PK) training sessions for current and newly hired Lowes associates. Training should include features, benefits as well as selling skills and may include a demo of the products. Products include Valspar, HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams, Purdy, Minwax, Cabot, Thompson's Waterseal, White Lightning, DIY Paint, and Contractor Paint.
    • Conduct sales training to current and newly hired Lowes associates through side-by-side selling activities
    • Promotional Display training to Lowes associates.
    • Training on how to conduct a "color conversation" with customers.
    • Train store associate on equipment. i.e. tinting machines as needed
  • Service
    • Assist store associates with tinting/mixing paint as needed.
  • Merchandising / Color Collateral / Displays
    • Maintain store signage, merchandising displays, color chip, and color card stock.
  • Misc. Responsibilities
    • Assist other Sales Service Reps as needed
    • Attended required conference calls
    • Attend local and non-local trainings as required (i.e. Sales Excellence)
    • Complete required paperwork/reports in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to timekeeping, sales calls, expense reporting, etc.


  • Qualifications

    FORMAL EDUCATION:

    Required:
    • HS Diploma
    Preferred:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Related field (i.e. Sales, Business Management, Marketing, etc.) - either completed or actively being pursued
    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

    Required:
    • 1+ year previous experience in Customer Service, Retail Sales, Marketing, or other customer-facing role
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends
    • Must have reliable transportation
    • Ability to work independently
    Preferred:
    • Ability to communicate in Spanish
    • Strong Organizational & Communication skills
    • Previous experience in team-oriented setting including sports teams, extra curricular activities, military experience, work experience, etc
    • Leadership roles in extra-curricular activities/organizations
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Experience Conducting presentations to groups of employees
    TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    Required:
    • Must have the ability to learn to operate the in-store tinting machines
    • Must be able to operate an iPhone & computer
    Preferred:
    • Previous paint/coatings experience
    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
    • 10% or less
