Brief Description Works closely with strategy and business leaders to create alignment between business and IT. The position clarifies strategic intentions, identifies business outcomes, explores implications, impacts and risks, and addresses stakeholders' questions. Creates deliverables for business leaders that support organizational change and investments in response to disruptive forces and toward achieving targeted business outcomes. Facilitates discussion around the construction of business models, which may include technology, business capabilities, value-streams and processes and other key business architecture deliverables. Helps strategy and business leaders understand, apply, and operationalize existing, new, and emerging technologies to transform and optimize business and operating models. Detailed Description Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.Analyzes the organization's digital strategy and how the organization currently approaches digital innovation and services.Facilitates enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, technology and business cases, and business innovation portfolio development along with operating model development.Engages key business stakeholders to identify business and technology-enabled innovation opportunities that enable and drive business strategy. Focuses on growing revenue, optimizes costs, and mitigates risks. Leverages the best practices of continuous foresight, innovation and futurism to continuously test business models and strategies, and determine how to adjust either or both to become resilient and future-fitUtilizes a toolbox of business architecture deliverables to help business leaders identify and make IT investment decisions. Deliverables include, but are not limited to, business-outcome-statements, strategy on a page, scenario planning, business capability modeling, value-streams mapping, business process models, ecosystems modeling, customer and user profiling, journey maps, human-centric design and investment roadmaps.Researches and provides information on emerging technology trends and disruptions and competitors' practices relevant to County operations.Facilitates development of crosslines of business solutions that combine knowledge of business capabilities, value streams and business processes.Provides internal management consultancy services to business leaders, business units and lines of business, helping them with design thinking, business modeling, ecosystem modeling, innovation management, IT investment analysis, and operating model design.Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education, Experience and Training:Bachelor's degree in information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience. Seven (7) years of business or IT experience with a direct responsibility for strategy formulation and/or translation, business analytics, and program management. Experience in one or more of the following areas: business transformation and optimization, strategic planning, leadership, business relationship management and business process management. Experience facilitating and leading multidiscipline, high-performance fusion teams. Experience developing and monitoring delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:• Knowledge and understanding of different types of business and operating models (existing, new, emerging and hybrid).• Knowledge of existing, new and emerging technologies and ability to practically apply them to new business designs and business models to achieve targeted business outcomes.• Knowledge in all aspects of designing and constructing business capabilities, value streams, business processes, and organizational structures.• Comprehensive knowledge of facilitation of projects and products, and organization change management.• Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects• Knowledge of finance, accounting, valuation and metrics development.• Strong anticipatory, statistical and information analysis skills.• Organizationally and politically savvy. The business architect is typically a consummate diplomat capable of understanding and navigating the personalities, obstacles and politics of the organization.• Ability to communicate, influence and persuade - both business and IT leaders, as well as peers.• Uses the language of business leaders and join the conversation that's taking place.• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and see how they can support business needs.• Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence.• Ability to analyze project and product needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives and solve problems • Understands business process management, workflow and integration methods and tools• Trusted and respected as a thought leader who can influence and persuade business and IT leaders.• Highly collaborative and supportive of business and of its ideals and strategies.• Organizationally savvy - comfortable, experienced and accomplished at working with business executives, and able to push back in a professional and diplomatic manner.• Remains unbiased - specific technology-and vendor-neutral - more interested in results than personal preferences• Displays intellectual curiosity and integrity, while respecting freedom and responsibility.• Motivated by long-term results and achieving targeted business outcomes.• Highly innovative with aptitude for foresight, and design and systems thinking. Additional Details Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code."Individuals holding or considered for a position which has, or may have, access to criminal justice databases including the FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems, NCIC/TCIC and similar databases, must pass a national fingerprint-based records check prior to placement in such position and may be denied placement in such positions and/or access to such systems.
