Brief Description Performs a variety of very defined support tasks which may include: organizing and maintaining records and files, issuing and maintaining supplies and equipment, processing and delivering mail, and other clerical related duties. Works within a well-defined framework of policies and procedures, under immediate supervision. Detailed Description Organizes and maintains records and files. Issues and maintains supplies and equipment. Processes and delivers mail. Processes routine items and records. Operates office equipment as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Completion of 10th grade from an accredited HS with the ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical computations, and understand and follow writtenverbal instructions. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, organize and process work and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees and the general public. May require prolonged walking, standing, sitting, climbing or bending, and ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. unassisted. Additional Details Candidates for all clerical, administrative andor secretarial positions will be required to take and pass at least one skills(s) test(s) which will be determined by the Elected Official or Department Head based on the position and the operational needs of the department. Testing may include one or more of the following: 10-key, Coding, Data Entry, Filing, Grammar, Math, MS Excel, MS Word, Proof Reading, Spelling, Sorting and Timed Typing (3 minute).An extensive pre-employment background investigation will be conducted on all applicants who have been offered positions with Dallas County.
