Brief Description Evaluates Central Intake clerical work flows, job design, development or modification and implementation of policies and procedures that control clerical activities trains new and current clerks on all aspects of the required work being performed. Detailed Description Analyses and evaluates legally mandated information requirements, current work flows, computer system support, and the physical layout of clerical areas to develop job designs, revised work flows and system enhancement recommendations. Develops training materials and executes clerical training programs designed to inform new and existing employees of the latest laws, regulations, policies, and procedures required to efficiently perform Intake and Release activities. Develops and maintains operating policies and procedures which closely control clerical aspects of prisoner intake activities. Monitors clerical productivity as well as the quantity and type of errors made to identify the need for procedural modifications, follow-up training and he redeployment of manpower and equipment. Maintains effective coordination, cooperation and communication efforts with all levels of jail personnel. Keeps abreast of the latest laws, regulations, and requirements relative to the processing of prisoners into a detention facility. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Graduation from accredited high school/GED Program. Five (5) years of work related experience or 75 hours of college or combination of the two.Ability to type 30 wpm. Ability to accurately perform mathematical calculations. Ability to understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions, organize and process work, establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees and the general public and ability to operate a computer/data entry terminals, and/or other office equipment as required. Requires successful completion of a polygraph and extensive background investigation and is subject to random, unannounced drug/alcohol testing. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Works inside the jail with potential exposure to hepatitis, tuberculosis, lice, and various other diseases as well as visual and audio exposure to combative/hostile inmates.
