Brief Description

Provides advanced administrative support within Criminal District Court Administration. Facilitates interaction of various functions, coordinates the flow of information, and monitors the status of work projects and other activities.

Detailed Description

Serves as a liaison between staff, elected officials, department heads, program managers, other departments, agencies, and the general public as it relates to the departmental or program services by: • Facilitating interaction of various functions • Coordinating the flow of information• Collecting, monitoring and verifying the status of work projects and other activities • Ensuring departmental or program goals, objectives and mission are communicated to staff and appropriate parties are kept apprised on all matters to assure timely and efficient operations. Researches, gathers material, and completes a variety of assigned projects and reports to include communicating with other departments and external sources to obtain information and provide feedback.Assists with Criminal District Courts, STAC Court, Mag Court, and Drug Court budgets to ensure adequate funding for service commitments and other operations requirements.Acts as lead to support staff and/or volunteers, coordinates assignments, and maintains time and attendance and other personnel actions to ensure efficient operation.Maintains confidential files and records and processes incoming/outgoing mail.Orders and maintains office supplies, monitors budget line items in accordance with departmental policy, and ensures compliance with budget restrictions.Performs various administrative duties including answering telephones, greeting guests, typing various documents and scheduling conference room usage.Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in, Business, or in a job related field of study.Ability to type 35 wpm. Candidates for all clerical, administrative and/or secretarial positions will be required to take and pass at least one skill(s) test(s) which will be determined by the Elected Official or Department Head based on the position and the operational needs of the department. Testing may include one or more of the following: 10-key, Coding, Data entry, Filing, Grammar, Math, MS Excel, MS Word, Proof Reading, Spelling, Sorting, Timed Typing (3 minute). Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.Depending on the location, this position may require the incumbent pass an extensive background investigation. Standard office environment. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking and ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
