Description

The IT Associate Developer role is to provide second level technical support for the Store Computer Operations for the Sherwin-Williams wholesale/retail paint stores. The IT Associate Developer will conduct detailed investigation of problems with the operation of the Source hardware, operating system, and application programs as reported by the Store Computer Operations Help Desk coordinators. This position identifies and directs the actions required to correct problems and provide oral and written reports about problem research, research results, and problem resolution. The incumbent will design, code, test, and implement programs that provide solutions for specific problems as assigned.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning
  • Provide solutions to standard known PC problems.
  • Research, diagnose, and resolve hardware and software issues with Source.
  • Contribute to process improvement plans.
Development & Deployment
  • Review and resolve open help desk tickets daily, promptly following up on tickets that require further user explanation.
  • Communicate status of reported problems to relevant team members and escalate problems as necessary.
  • Perform hardware and software improvements and upgrades for test and production environments.
  • Assist in the testing phase of hardware and software solutions in order to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
  • Monitor reporting control systems such as file delivery systems and networking.
Operational Management
  • Provide after hours and weekend support when needed to limit Source down time processing.
  • Escalate issues and/or concerns to the responsible application development teams.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Articulate and document problem resolution tickets in a clear and concise manner.
  • Recommend process and procedural improvements for hardware and software troubleshooting.
Incidental Functions
  • Assist with Change Management preparations and implementations.
  • Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.
  • Attend meetings in participation with the team.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour work day may be required.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H1-B visa.

This position has a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and the option for working remotely two days.

Qualifications

Formal Education & Certification
  • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) or in lieu of a degree, at least 12 years of experience in the field of Information Technology or Business (work experience or a combination of education and work experience in the field of Information Technology or Business).
Knowledge & Experience
  • 1+ years of IT or Business experience.
  • Experience in technical support or programming.
Preferred Experience, but not required
  • Linux/Unix experience and shell scripting knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge in SQL or RDBMS writing basic database queries.
  • Basic knowledge of Xclarity, Grafana, ServiceNow
  • Sherwin Williams Paint Store experience.
