Description

This position is required to grow top-line sales at assigned Lowe's store through implementing sales/marketing programs, training activities, service, and merchandising responsibilities. The Part-Time Store Sales Representative will support one Lowe's store location in a given market, spending the majority of time supporting Paint and Pro department customer engagement and developing customer leads.

Job duties involve contact with customers, which may include minors; and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Sales
  • Establish strong selling relationships with store associates and store management
  • Continually promote and represent the brand and product strengths to Lowe's associates, customers/contractors discerning competitive advantage and competitor's weaknesses.
  • Prospecting throughout the store in the Paint department, Pro department, and other specialty departments:
  • Engaging customers face to face, customer qualifications, sales cycle execution, reward program sign-ups, etc...
  • Calling customers in pre-determined customer lists, qualifying, and uncovering leads to pass to Territory Sales Representatives.
  • Conduct customer events and demonstrations to promote products and increase sales
  • Training
  • Conduct product knowledge (PK) training sessions for current and newly hired Lowe's associates. Training should include features, benefits as well as selling skills and may include a demo of the products. Products include Valspar, HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams, Purdy, Minwax, Cabot, Thompson's Waterseal, White Lightning, Do It Yourself Paint, Contractor Paint.
  • Conduct sales training for current and newly hired Lowe's associates through side-by-side selling activities
  • Training on how to engage and sell professional customers
  • Train store associates on equipment. i.e. tinting machines as needed
  • Service
  • Assist store associates with tinting/mixing paint as needed.
  • Customer project and color tracking
  • Connecting with Lowe's Leadership: morning huddles, spotlight walks, recaps
  • Merchandising / Color Collateral / Displays
  • Maintain store signage, merchandising displays, color chip and color card stock.
  • Misc. Responsibilities
  • Assist other Sales Service Reps as needed
  • Attended required conference calls
  • Attend local and non-local trainings as required (i.e. Sales Excellence)
  • Complete required paperwork/reports in a timely manner. This includes but is not limited to timekeeping, sales calls, expense reporting, etc.
  • 85% of time in Paint Department
    • Engaging customers face to face, customer qualifications, sales cycle execution, reward program sign-ups, etc.
    • Calling customers in pre-determined customer list, qualifying, uncovering leads to pass to Territory Sales Representatives
      • Make and log as many calls as needed to achieve financial expectations.
    • In-person customer transfer from paint to pro (walk pro-customer to pro desk for intro)
  • 15% of time engaging across store
    • Prospecting throughout store in Pro, specialty departments, reward program sign-ups, etc.
    • In-Store Pro Desk Support: real time customer's needs, Lowe's Pro Sales, paint program execution
  • Pro Engagement Events
    • 1 activation per week: supports promotional activity and aligns with pro paint events (2-hours)
    • Located in Paint Department - customer engagement activity required
    • Minimum 5 reward program sign-ups; qualified and appropriate leads passed to Territory Sales Representative.

    FORMAL EDUCATION:

    Required:
    • HS Diploma
    • Bachelor's degree in business related field (i.e. Sales, Business Management, Marketing, etc.) - either completed or actively being pursued
    Preferred:
    • Bachelor's degree in business related field (i.e. Sales, Business Management, Marketing, etc.) - either completed or actively being pursued
    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

    Required:
    • 1+ year previous experience in Customer Service, Retail Sales, Marketing or other customer facing role
    • Ability to work evenings and weekends or weekday mornings and weekends
    • Must have reliable transportation
    • Ability to work independently
    Preferred:
    • Ability to communicate in Spanish
    • Strong Organizational & Communication skills
    • Previous experience in team-oriented setting including sports teams, extracurricular activities, military experience, work experience, etc.
    • Leadership roles in extra-curricular activities/organizations
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Experience Conducting presentations to groups of employees
    TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    Required:
    • Must have the ability to learn to operate the in-store tinting machines
    • Must be able to operate an iPhone & computer
    Preferred:
    • Previous paint/coatings experience
