Performs a variety of duties, to include assisting on roadways, clearing debris flagging traffic, arranging barriers, and operating equipment and light trucks. Responsibilities 1. Assists on roadways as assigned by performing flag duties, arranging barriers, cutting brush, and cleaning debris from roadways, and storm sewers, assisting in road construction, etc. 2. Operates a variety of construction equipment and light trucks. 3. Prepares routine operating and activity reports reflecting materials hauled, trip time, and job site address location . 4. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education, Experience and Training: Graduation from an accredited high school/GED Program or additional equivalent related work experience. Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code. Physical/Environmental Requirements: Maintenance shop or road construction environment. Requires prolonged, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, climbing and the ability to lift and carry in excess of 100 lbs., assisted. Ability to work in varied conditions (i.e., heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, etc.), inside and outside. Ability to operate equipment efficiently and safely. | |
