Description

Addresses the ongoing opioid epidemic by designing, implementing, and overseeing educational initiatives and outreach programs aimed at preventing opioid misuse, promoting safe practices, and connecting individuals with essential resources.

Responsibilities

1. Develops educational materials, resources, and presentations on opioid misuse prevention, pain management, addiction, and harm reduction strategies, with guidance.

2. Creates and delivers engaging workshops, seminars, and training sessions for diverse audiences, such as Dallas County groups, and at-risk populations.

3. Creates and maintains accurate class rosters for all training sessions. Maintains organized records of all training materials, participant data, and other necessary documents. Monitors and tracks all expenditures related to grant-funded activities and ensures compliance with grant guidelines and requirements.

4. Collects and analyzes data to measure the impact of education and outreach efforts, making necessary adjustments to enhance effectiveness.

5. Utilizes various communication channels, including social media, websites, and printed materials, to disseminate accurate and up-to-date information on opioids and related topics. Stays informed about evolving trends, research, and policies related to opioids, addiction, and recovery to continuously improve educational content and strategies.

6. Attends training sessions on opioid health policy and advocacy issues.

7. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training:

Education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited high school/GED program. Four (4) years of experience in Behavioral Health, Public Health, Education, or Community Engagement, or in a job-related field of study, or equivalent job experience. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments, and the general public. Ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences. Ability to design and deliver educational workshops, presentations, and materials. Skilled in organization, interpersonal communication, and professionalism. Skilled in data collection and analysis to evaluate program outcomes. Ability to work effectively with individuals from various backgrounds. Ability to work flexibly in evenings and weekends as required by outreach events.

Physical/Environmental Requirements:

May require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
