Description

This position is a 12 week internship (Summer 2024) experience for the Protective & Marine Coatings Division. The marketing communications intern will assist with written and visual content development for presentations, video, website and LinkedIn: provide support for events and tradeshows; support digital asset management; and contribute to tracking and analysis of marketing communications campaigns. The intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic B2B marketing and sales-oriented environment and work first-hand with business leaders and creative resources to create brand awareness in the industrial coating market.
  • Content and Collateral Development
    • Enter creative requests in project management system, Workfront, and manage workflow
    • PowerPoint presentation formatting, image sourcing and proofing
    • Copy writing, editing and proofing
    • Assistance with video storyboarding and coordination of production
    • Photo and image manipulation for digital placements
  • Internal Communications
    • Assist with drafting and posting internal communication updates
  • Website
    • Assist with contributing content updates through website CMS platform
  • Social Media
    • Assist with drafting LinkedIn updates and formatting images
  • Events
    • Assist with planning and preparation for tradeshows, customer events and business meetings
      • Promotion, invitations and RSVPs
      • Coordinating branding needs
      • Attending events as needed
  • Digital Asset Management
    • Assist with organization and formatting properties of digital images and content
  • Data Management and Analytics
    • Assist with analysis, clean-up and maintenance of marketing data
    • Assist with tracking and reporting of analytics for marketing communication activities


Qualifications

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:
  • Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent of a High School diploma
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field
  • Must have a current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis
  • Basic image editing skills
  • Highly organized and self-driven
Preferred:
  • Currently a sophomore or junior standing
  • Experience in written and visual content creation
  • Digital promotion/marketing experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
  • Some travel to other locations, meetings and/or seminars is required.
