Brief Description

Responsible for building and maintaining business intelligence reports and dashboards. Primarily support the business in creating and maintaining meaningful reports and analysis aligned with key business metrics. In addition, Will work closely with key business stakeholders to devise new ways to measure and predict future business performance as well as uncover insights that could help inform management decisions Management Scope: May provide supervision to Business Intelligence Developer I & II

Detailed Description

Plans, and coordinates projects with other areas of responsibility; works with outside entities to translate business requirements into stories, tasks, and subtasks in support of delivering consumable value to business partners in an Agile manner. Resolve problems and provide technical evaluation and recommendations; attends status, design and implementation meetings with IT staff and other department staff and stakeholders.Responsible for design, Development, publish, schedule reports and dashboards to meet business requirements. Also responsible for unit testing of various components of BI projects, while adhering to architectural requirements of maintainability and scalability.Designs, codes, tests, documents, and implements visualizations, reports and dashboards; adheres to defined business requirements and statutes following standard SDLC and best practices.Applies system updates and patches; maintains program customization details; facilitates process to ensure data continuity.Lead, direct and support the work of Business Intelligence (BI) team. .Works with end-users and other technical employees to resolve any errors and maintenance issues.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education, Experience and Training:Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Business, Engineering, or other related field of study. Five (5) years of related work experience using MS Power BI Stack or other BI tool, developing complex technical data visualizations, dashboards or reports in accordance with development standards and tools utilizing best practices.Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must have strong experience utilizing tools and systems on the MS SQL Server BI Stack, including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, T-SQL, Power Pivot, Power BI, Power Query, MDX, and DAX. Understanding of database fundamentals, including relational database design, multidimensional database design, OLTP, and OLAP. Ability to quickly stage & shape data from data warehouses into reporting and analytics solutions. Proficiency with SSAS Tabular models. Proficiency with developing Power BI reports and Dashboards. Proficiency with writing T-SQL queries and stored procedures. Ability to meet deadlines. Must have the ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public Desired Skills & Abilities:Experience with Big Data Technologies: Azure Data Lake/ Azure Data warehousing. Must pass a background check for security-sensitive positions.Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record. Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history. Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code."Individuals holding or considered for a position which has, or may have, access to criminal justice databases including the FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems, NCIC/TCIC and similar databases, must pass a national fingerprint-based records check prior to placement in such position and may be denied placement in such positions and/or access to such systems.
