Brief Description Produces quality radiographs, asserts quality control of the radiographic environment and maintains established radiation safety standards and practices. Detailed Description Produces quality x-rays, in a timely manner, by demonstrating a working knowledge of usually accepted techniques of radiographic exposure, and human anatomy, and appropriate positions necessary to demonstrate the areas to be visualized.Checks the adequacy of techniques on radiographs produced and ensures correct labeling on films and that all required information is discernible.Performs darkroom functions, including loading and unloading cassettes and operating automatic film processors.Performs user level maintenance on radiographic fluoroscopic machines and reports deficiencies. Ensures established safety precautions are adhered to concerning equipment use, and environmental cleanliness. Inputs data and maintains x-ray database and other information necessary to obtain and retain current licensing, registration and certification.Works Homeless Shelters as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Education, Experience and Training:Education and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree from an accredited American Medical Association approved Radiologic Technology Training School. One (1) year of work related experience. Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Must possess the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Certification/Medical Radiologist Texas (MRT) by the Texas Medical Board.Physical/Environmental Requirements:Requires prolonged standing and ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
